My girls are PUMPED about Halloween.

They don't even like the candy, really.  Except for the chocolate.  What can I say?  They are my daughters.

But they LOVE the costumes and knocking on everyone's door!!

Trick or Treat!!

So, this morning, the girls went through their tickle trunk to pick out their school costumes.  We have SO MANY costumes, that we are lucky to have variety and can have some spontaneity come Halloween.

I love costumes, too.  Bring on the costumes!!

Miss G wanted to be a Fairy, and Miss decided to dress up as Patchy-Patch. 

Whenever someone said, "Oh!  What a cute giraffe!" Miss A would correct them and say, "No.  I'm Patchy-Patch!" 

I caught Miss A's preschool class on their parade through the school. 

All the teachers were in on the Halloween dress-up, too.  This teacher refused to talk to me, and we had a very long painful charades game.  It was awesome!  I'm sure he thought I was a dolt by the end, but it was fun!  Apparently, I'm not very good at understanding Polar Bear lingo.  That's a good thing to know about yourself when in the North. 

Miss G had a marvellous morning with Halloween festivities in her classroom.  I was able to sneak a peek during recess time. 

Miss A's preschool invited all the parents for lunch.  Here, I stopped in at morning recess before the parent invasion. 

Miss A thought it was very special to have Mommy and Daddy to herself for lunch at school.  And, we loved it, too!

Miss A swiped some of Daddy's lip stuff before we left! 

And, we had some extra time to play with the Lego before lunch was over. 

After school, we got to work on carving our pumpkin. 

Miss G asked for a Doggie jack-o-lantern 

Miss A liked watching Daddy use the drill to make the "dots" on Doggie's cheeks, even if she didn't love the noise.

We bundled up, and headed out to trick and treat, a little on the early side (before 6 o'clock). The girls switched into brown cow costumes which were big enough to fit over their warm snowsuits.  I dressed as a Mommy from the East who cannot cope with the cold and loves her new parka.  Eli also got to test out his new parka.

First stop?  Gramma and Grampa's house!!

What a wonderful start to the Halloween evening!! 

Back in the car, Miss A noticed that the mittens made sucking her thumb more of a challenge, but not impossible! 

Our second stop was my cousin Lena's house! 

To quote the girls, "We like Lena!" 

Shortly after, we visited the neighbours on our cul-de-sac.  How now brown cows? 

The girls wanted to stop at their good friends' place first!  These kids love each other.

And, we visited our next door neighbour Tricia's place too.  She dazzled the girls with pencils and uber-cool headbands with fake hair and play jewelry.  She is now the girls' favourite person.

We were back in loads of time for bedtime snacks (pancakes!) and a movie.  The girls stayed up a little bit, but I'm hoping it will just help to squash their unfortunate new habit of waking up at 5:30 am.  That's 4:30 am next week when the time changes!  Yikes!
