This is the reason I began this blog in the first place... to collect our adventures on our cross-country trip as we moved far far away to the North!
Halifax to Yellowknife, Baby!

Goodbyes suck. They really do. Saying goodbye to our home, friends and family... but, we had one heck of a party!
July 11, 2011 (Day 3)
Miramichi, NB to Lévis, QC
994.5 km
We crossed the border to QC, and the girls adjusted to hotel swimming pools in a hurry!

1758.5 km
The girls continue to crack us up with their observations and comments from the back seat.
July 13, 2011 (Day 5)
Val d'Or, QC to Kapuskasing, ON
2205.5 km
The girls love watching the GPS map as we move along west.
Kapuskasing, ON to Thunder Bay, ON
2825.5 km
Thankful for Theatrical Girls and Beautiful Rest Stops
Rest stops were few and far between on this stretch, but we loved the restaurant we found!
July 15, 2011 (Day 7)
Thunder Bay, ON to Winnipeg, MB

We began the day at beautiful Kakabeka Falls, and ended at likely the girls' favourite hotel on the trip-- with a water slide.

4327 km
It's HOT in the prairies! We stopped at Margaret Laurence's childhood home on the way to see Uncle Martin.

Staying PUT in Saskatoon, SK

I was SO excited that my brother Chris was able to spend the day with us in SK! We also got to see my cousins Jen and Maureen.
July 18, 2011 (Day 10)
Saskatoon, SK to Edmonton, AB
4858 km
We passed through Lloydminster, the true border town, and stopped in Vegreville, AB for the giant egg! Oh, and Eli finally met his boat for the first time.
July 19, 2011 (Day 11)
Staying PUT in Edmonton, AB
4858 km
Uncle Emerson, Auntie Kelli and kids met us in Edmonton for a fun-filled day of fire trucks, pirate ships and the mall.
July 20, 2011 (Day 12)
Edmonton, AB to High Level, AB
5641 km
Not much to see north of Edmonton, but I did see this bunny cloud, we interrupted a funeral procession, and found a wicked waterpark in a hotel.
July 21, 2011 (Day 13)
High Level, AB to Yellowknife, NT
6357 km
We made it!! We crossed the mackenzie river and saw a dozen bison (Miss A called them elephants), and we MADE IT! (9.5 hours of driving today!)
I'm so very glad we've taken on this opportunity. I'm SUPER glad that I decided to chronicle our adventure, and that I continue to do so!
But, I miss home.
And, I miss my people.
You know who you are.
