Northern Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving by giving thanks for having Eli's parents in the same town as us!

We bundled up the girls in mitts and snowsuits for our walk to Gramma and Grampa's house.
The waggon was loaded with colouring supplies, my camera gear, and our contribution to the harvest meal (salad and dessert... chocolate drop cookies).
Gramma made some delicious ham and scalloped potatoes, by Eli's special request.
We trundled along, and the girls were happy to have their warm toasty suits on.
It was just above zero degrees!
At Gramma and Grampa's the girls got to colouring almost right away.
Don't you love the large photo above the piano?
Grampa won a contest with that photo, and the prize was that beautiful print and frame.
Their whole house is a museum of family history.
It's eclectic and meaningful.  Every square inch.
I could do several blog posts on just the living room alone!
(Maybe I will, with Gramma's help, this winter!)
Miss A made good use of the mirrors in the living room.
Both girls had fun posing and making silly faces.
And, some kung-foo fighting, naturally.
Don't even pretend you don't do this in front of your mirror at home.
You know you do!
Eli and Grampa chatted while the girls entertained.
Miss G completed a series of pictures for Gramma's fridge.
We were running out of space towards the end of our visit.
Loads of books... what more could two girls ask for?
Snuggles with Gramma!!
And, more colouring...
We left just before 7:00, and it was dark out.
And cold, especially with the wind.
There was ice thinking about forming on the puddles we passed.
It was about 2 degrees Celsius, and the wind was strong and brisk.
The girls were happy to be in their snowsuits and toasty warm.
Having Daddy pull them home in the wagon was pretty fantastic, too.
Thanks for a beautiful and relaxing Thanksgiving meal and visit, Gramma and Grampa.

We are thankful that you are only a wagon walk away!
