Brothers

Who would have thunk that Yellowknife was such a hub for visitors?

We are lucky ducks!

Truth be known, Yellowknife is the metropolis of the North, so it is not terribly shocking, but nonetheless thrilling, when we get pop-in visitors.

Eli was very excited to have Emerson leave a message on his Blackberry just before he got off work on Wednesday (cell phones do not work in his building).

Emerson had just landed at the airport (he works north of Yellowknife, and has a flight connection here) and would be in town for a few hours.

YAY!

Eli called me at school, and I met the girls from their classrooms to take them to my room so Eli could spin by the airport before coming to the school.

Then, Daddy and Uncle Emerson came to the school to get the girls.
The brothers posed by Eli's boat for a picture.
I got Emerson to actually smile by saying something like,
"Gee Emerson.  Pretend you like your brother."
Emerson tends to like the serious, "I'm bigger than you" pose (the sentiment of the which is true, in my case in particular).
Then, they talked "boat talk."  It is very important.
Emerson was suitably interested, and I'm pretty sure he didn't even have to fake it.
See?  That's a good big brother.
Big boys seem to bond by admiring toys for big boys together.
It was a great afternoon surprise to see the two of them together.
Thanks for popping in, Emerson!
