In the Joy of Snow

Miss G recovered nicely from her tummy-trouble illness, and by late on Friday, she had enough energy to be outside enjoying the fresh air and snow.  It was nice to see and hear her outside, since she really hadn't left the bed or couch since Monday night.
This is the view from our front deck Friday evening once Daddy arrived home from work.
This cul-de-sac is such a blessing!  It's so nice to have the big play space so visible from our front window.
I know I've mentioned it before, but I really do like the look of the unploughed roads in Yellowknife.  I am aware that this would be impractical in northern New Brunswick with the large accumulations of snow in a short time.  We had a  90 cm dump of snow two days before our December wedding a few years ago!  Nor would Halifax, NS be able to do it with the freeze-thaw action that happens.  But it works up here!  It's cold and it stays cold, so let's keep it white.  Plus, Mama secretly has a thing for driving the orange car in the snow!
Here, you can see my pale Miss G enjoying the outdoors on her rosy cheeks with her snow companion, Ducky.
Daddy helped the girls dig in the snow pile he had created when cleaning up after the snowstorm the day before.
Ducky thought that his snow fort was just ducky!
Saturday morning, Eli packed up the boat in its winter blanket and got it ready for hibernation.
Our next door neighbour, Dave, generously suggested that Eli park the boat between our two houses for the winter season.  It's a perfect place! And, now, we have our heated garage available for thawing and storing one car at a time.
Eli can check on his boat mistress anytime he likes, it's sheltered between the two houses, and we can see it from inside the house.  Thanks Dave!
Eli was pretty impressed that our little car handled the snow so well.  Dave directed, and Eli parked the boat.
Then, the men congratulated themselves on a job well-done.  Well done, gentlemen.  It's almost as if a boat on a trailer was meant to move.  Miraculous.  And, yes, Eli it looks awesome there.  She's very happy.
