DAY 12 on the Road to Yellowknife:
Edmonton, AB to High Level, AB (783 km)
Running total: 5641 km
We hit the road again this morning.
Eli went to the boat dealership early in the morning to hook up the new boat to the car, then came back to the hotel to get us.
We had pulled the utility trailer to Edmonton, and yesterday his brother took it with his to his place so we could pull the boat.
It's a two-day drive to Yellowknife from Edmonton, and both days are quite long.
The girls have really settled in, and are a breeze to travel with, now.
This was today's route.
It twists gradually, and goes up and down in altitude by some large (but mostly gradual) degrees.
We had mostly cloudy skies, with a few good rain showers along the way.
The road, trees, and clouds provided most of the entertainment.

A creatively patched road (and shockingly smooth!)
A cloud that looks like a bunny (though it has no eyes, nose or a mouth, as "G" pointed out, so we called it a bunny shadow cloud).
Just checking to make sure the boat is coming along. It is.
This was an awkward situation.
A funeral possession pulled out ahead of us.
What you do not see is the line for about 20 other cars following our car pulling the boat.
Coming into Peace River
Little "G" having a chat with Nanny
When we pulled into the hotel, "G" wanted to help Eli with the hitch on the boat.
She's strong! "I'm strong, right?"
She's strong! "I'm strong, right?"
The best part of the day for the girls was the hotel.
It has a water park designed for small kids!!
(For future reference, this is the face of GLEE.)

Sweet "A" checking out the car wash.
Water everywhere!
It was like a full playground submerged in about a foot of water, with water spraying in all directions.
They loved it!!
They loved it!!
The girls both fell fast asleep after this visit to the water park.
Tomorrow is the last day of travel!
I'll be continuing to update the blog, even once we're settled in Yellowknife.
I'm the Map! I'm the Map!
