What's not to love about Christmas?
Here is a recap of some of the fun things the girls got to do during Advent, leading up to Christmas.
Longtime Traditions.
Each girl had a chance to go to the Legislative Assembly with their own Kindergarten class to decorate their class Christmas Tree... a Yellowknife tradition for almost 20 years.
Christmas Concerts!
You can read about Miss A's concert and Miss G's concert from this school year in earlier posts. And, you can also read about last year's concert.
Delicious traditions!
Like our school's annual Turkey Dinner, prepared by parents and served to every student and staff member.
This year, we hosted the Christmas Meal on our Faith Alive Day, which is a very fun day when all of the students get into mixed-age groups and move from classroom to classroom to do activities and centres, learning about Jesus.
This year, we had 2 liturgies, and the theme was We Are the Hands of Jesus.
Celebrating giving to others.
In December, the school holds a major Can Drive, and this year our school collected over 4000 items for the Salvation Army Food Bank!
Any student who brought in more than 50 items in one day got to throw a pie in our Principal's face.
This year, I won a hula hoop contest and took pictures!
We celebrate the Food Bank collections with school-wide silly events on the last day of school before Christmas Break.
