Cousins in Saskatoon

DAY 4 on the Road to Nova Scotia
Leduc AB to Saskatoon SK (556.7 km)
2081 km in total from Yellowknife

We left the hospitality of my second cousin Stella and Johnny, and headed east to Saskatoon to see my cousin Shawna and her beautiful family.

We passed the Alberta Saskatchewan border smack dab in the centre of Lloydminster...  a town that has the unusual claim of being divided by provincial borders.

Driving through the prairies is bright with canola and silos everywhere.

Once we arrived in Saskatoon, the kids began playing immediately, and barely stopped to go to bed!  Here, Miss A is playing catch with Mr L.  "Catch!  Catch!"  Miss A would pretend to be a basketball net, and Mr L would take a shot!

I loved playing catch with Mr L, too, but was far too busy throwing and catching his curve balls to snap pictures!  Mr L might be pitching for the Red Socks before long!

The girls put on quite a show in the evening!  Oh, the singing and dancing!

Miss A and Miss G decided to leave their pet fish Fishy (also known as Fastest) with Miss T, so she would remember them.  Fishy is a very lucky fish to be living in Miss T's fancy purple bedroom, and Miss T is tickled to have a pet to care for.  She has already decorated the outside of his fish tank with beautiful summer drawings.

Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home.  We loved spending time with you, and it was so much fun to see the kids playing together.  They are all so sweet.  The big boys bonded over boats and renos.

Shannon Lee and Shawna Rae.  I'm the mini-cousin.

Here is our route today from Leduc AB (outside Edmonton) to Saskatoon SK, 556.7 km.

2081 km so far from Yellowknife.
