On June 1, Miss A had another special event... her Preschool Farewell.
Miss A's talented and enthusiastic preschool teachers put together a Carnival for the kids and families!
The farewell is sort of like a "graduation," but more like a "Look how much fun we've had!" celebration to send the preschoolers off to Kindergarten in style.
Families were invited to the school's mini-gym (the smaller of our two gymnasiums) over lunch.
The preschoolers performed two bilingual Carnival songs for us.
Complete with actions.
Miss A was very proud of herself!!
And, we are very proud of her!
We were divided into two groups, and Miss A has a heart on her cheek, so we got to dine at the potluck first.
Then, it was time to go to the Carnival-themed centres!
Miss A was very excited to see all the decorations Mme. C, Ms. P and Mr. C made!
There was a circus elephant!
Miss A thought she was an elephant, too.
Then, we went to get out tickets, so Miss A could "pay" to go to all the activities.
A ring toss.
Mr. C, dressed as a lion, was running a train carnival ride.
The kids climbed in (the train is on flat scooters),
And, Mr. C pulled and rolled, and bumped the kids around as they hollered with joy.
Normally, I would bet that he has a sore back, but I think that he's pretty used to this sort of thing... he's always right in there with the kids!
Miss A jumped through a ring of fire!
And, there was a silly faces photo booth, too!
Rrrroar!
Miss A liked the bean bag toss game,
and the ball toss game (the ping pongs spun around like crazy, and made her laugh).
Gramma was able to come by on her lunch break, too, which really made Miss A's day!
Inside the big tent, the older students were there to paint faces.
This is a favourite thing to do for all the preschoolers!
A whale!!
And, what's a carnival without a bag of popcorn?
Tuckered out, we stopped for another snack of cheese strings.
Miss A is very lady-like.
She asked to borrow my mirror to check on her whale.
And, to give herself a kiss. She's beautiful, and she knows it.
We had enough time to do one more activity again, so we went back to the silly faces photo booth.
Not only was this a memorable preschool day, but pretty much every day in preschool was this exciting for her, thanks to her great teachers.
In fact, the preschool even invited Miss G's class to come enjoy the Carnival (once the parents left), and Miss G was happy to have her face painted.
